Once upon a time (December 23), high in a mountain forest, was a sweet little cottage. Nestled in the thick of the snow covered pines the cottage's golden glow was breathtaking against a backdrop of black night sky and a glistening winter wonderland. Although the temperature was frigid, once we left the sleigh, we were warmed by both our snow shoe trudge in, and our first glimpse of the cottage's fairytale charm. Unlike Hansel and Gretel's cottage, which was dripping in candy and frosting, this was covered in snow and certainly dripping in icicles.

Once inside we were further warmed by the pewter filled mugs of hot glogg, a crackling fire and the grand piano's Christmas melodies. But most of all, we were warmed by the laughter and love of those we supped with-19 of our favorite people!

No, it wasn't really Hansel and Gretel's cottage. It was the Viking Yurt at The Canyon's - 8,000 feet above Park City. But yes, I did feel as if we had snow shoed our way into a magical Norwegian fairytale!

More Christmas Cheer to follow...
What a fun night! You all look so cozy in the Yurt. And not surprising that everyone is so beautiful even after the adventure of getting there!
